The author of this Web site, David Viniker, is a doctor and not a computer professional. In 2000, his manuscript for a "Frequently Asked Questions" book on health was completed and he elected to put it on the Web. A reputable Web site design company was recruited and a significant fee was agreed. The work was planned to be completed within three months but, three months later, they had not started.
As the site developed, books, magazines and the web itself were frequently consulted but many mistakes were made. Some of the mistakes were easily rectified but others took a considerable amount of time to correct. In retrospect, he had been using excellent sources but each specialised in only one area.
