What screen resolution should be used?

page complexity combined with high screen resolution, visitors to your site using lower resolution will find it impossible to read. My first 100 pages of my women's health site, were designed with my preferred screen resolution. When I uploaded the site it still looked appropriate to me but others, who prefer a lower resolution, reported that the text looked too big and went off the screen so that they needed to use a horizontal screen tab.

As monitor quality improves, surfers are tending to use higher resolution. The following graphs are from:

 http://www.darjanpanic.com/web-design/Web site-statistics-why-are-they-important/

The following table demonstrates that there is a trend to use higher screen resolution:

The current popular screen resolution is 1024x768 (http://mindymcadams.com/tojou/2007/web-design-101-what-the-audience-sees/) - August 2007:-

The number of people viewing the site at the old standard, 800 x 600, is quite small.
