What is link popularity?It is in the interest of search engines to ensure that they provide the best best quality results for Web surfers (search engines). The second step in the search engine algorithms following page content analysis was to include link popularity. Webmasters would then place as many links as possible both within their site and between other sites that they maintained. Furthermore, link exchanges between Web sites became popular to increase link popularity.

Some of these pages may have hundred of links. One or two, however, may have one or two linking pages at most; this would indicate that at the time of writing, link popularity per se may not be a significant variable in the Search Engine Algorithm. You may try to improve your ranking by exchanging links with other Web sites particularly if they are relevant to your site. You can usually find an email address on their Web site.
