Cherry Picker is a keyword difficulty tool that attempts to find keywords with low keyword difficulty that can be ripe for the picking - in otherwords keywords that you can aim to achieve top positioning on the search engines.

No language options Negative In Switzerland, searchers have the choice of English, French, German and Italian and in SEO you would need to know the difficulty of achieving top 10 positioning according to language. Cherry Picker makes no provision for this and it would be of little value outside the USA.

Links to URL Negative Ryan Deiss comments in his video (http://www.cherrypickersoftware.com/) on the website in position 4 as follows. 308 links to the page and 543 links to the domain.
He suggests that this is a 'Cherry' ripe for the picking as it would be easy to achieve this number of links in a month or two. He suggests that his program is showing that 'memory foam mattress' "is a keyword that is not that competitive." This is completely incorrect.
Google PageRank of URL Negative He ignores the fact that it is not the number of links that really matters.
The value of each link depends on a number of factors including:
      The PageRank of the linking page and the number of links on the linking page.
PageRank is a far better guide to the value of inbound links.
Ryan has ignored his own data on this as Cherry Picker has demonstrated that the PageRank for this page is 5 and this would be very difficult to achieve.
It most certainly could not be done in a month or two!
Furthermore, it is not the PageRank of the page that matters but the website HomePage PageRank.

The webpage in position 9 above has a PageRank of 0. However, the website is YouTube and the HomePage PageRank is 9. This is virtually impossible for the average website to achieve.

Keyword SEO Pro finds the PageRank of the website HomePages as well as that of the URL. The average PageRank for 'memory foam mattress is 5.4 and this keyword has hight keyword difficulty and it is most certainly not a 'Cherry' ripe for the picking.

Here is the data for 'wholesale mattress" with Keyword SEO Pro. The page in position 7 (tradekey.com/ ) page in the Cherry Picker results is now in position 9 when I analysed it with Keyword SEO Pro. Take a look at the corresponding HomePage PageRank. It is 8 !! This is not a page that is ripe for the taking. A HomePage PageRank is completely out of range for the average website.

 

 Conclusions on Cherry Picker

 

Cherry Picker looks at five factors with the aim of determining keyword difficulty and identifying 'a cherry' - a keyword that has low keyword difficulty and top page positioning can be easily achieved.

It looks at link numbers to the page and to the domain and the PageRank of the URL.

As Cherry Picker does not look a the HomePage PageRank, it does not provide the most important factor in identifying low keyword difficulty keywords. It is, therefore, not a cherry picker.

Cherry Picker only allows one keyword to be analysed at a time.

Keyword SEO Pro provides the crucial HomePage PageRank information. Furthermore, It also allows a list of keywords to be analysed.

Cherry Picker promised so much but is short on delivery
